Period I

Stage II

The first phase of bile duct cancer is carcinoma in-situ, or Stage 0, which is cancer that is non invasive. It isn't in other organs or any lymph glands.

Period III

Stage I cancer involves one tumor that has started to invade into more layers of the wall of the bile duct like the muscle level, but hasn't reached any blood ships.

Period IV

Phase II cancer is separated by the National Cancer Institute into phase IIA and IIB. Period IIA bile duct cancer is when the cancer has invaded the liver, gallbladder, pancreas and both side of the hepatic artery or portal vein. Stage IIB affects the liver, gallbladder, or cancer that has spread to lymph nodes that are adjacent, together with both the bile duct, the bile duct wall, pancreas, or either side of the hepatic artery or portal vein.

Phase III -phases, Stage IIIA and IIIB. Stage IIIA is identified when the cancer has started to invade the primary blood vessels on 1 side of the liver or the hepatic artery, according to the American Cancer Society. Lymph nodes and other organs are cancer-free. Phase IIIB cancer includes cancer that's penetrated the deeper layers of tissue in the duct wall, and maybe developed through the wall into surrounding fat tissue. Cancer can take the main blood vessels of the liver on one side. Organs that are remote will not be cancerous, although neighborhood lymph nodes may have cancer inside them. In accordance with the National Cancer Institute, phase III cancer may likewise incorporate cancer that has spread to nearby organs like stomach, the colon, small bowel or abdominal walls.
